This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders in an education and care setting.
This course comprises 1 core subject.
- HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education & care setting
Participants will be provided with our workbooks 14 days prior to the scheduled course date. Students are expected to read these workbooks and complete the assessment activities prior to attending the training day. Students should allow up to 7 hours to complete these activities prior to attending on the day. Students that do not complete these activities will not be able to attend the training session. On the training day the trainer will provide additional instruction and then students will demonstrate appropriate first aid activities for the practical assessments.
Upon successful completion of this course Consultants will gain a statement of results in HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education & care setting..

Course runs for 2 days.
Day 1 can is delivered in a classroom and is theory based. Alternatively, students can be posted workbooks and exam papers 1 week in advance but will need to complete prior to attending day 2.
Day 2 is practical assessment using bandages, epipen, anapen, defibrillator, cpr manequins.
